Scoot Airlines Cabin Baggage Allowance

Cabin bags weighing 10kg for passengers flying from or to Economy class may travel. Cabin bags weighing up to 15 kgs for passengers flying within or to Scootplus will be allowed. Again the principal cabin bag whose overall dimension must not go more than 54 x 38 x 23 or 22 in x 14 in x 9 in. All bags above the cabin allowed must be checked and will incur checking fees. Passengers check their bags at least two hours before scheduled departure times.

Checked baggage is not included in the FlyBag Lite fares for Scoot. A minimum baggage allowance can be purchased to weigh 20kg, 25kg, 30kg, and 40kg. Available pre-purchase rates may be made on the Scoot website or mobile application up to 4 hours before flight departure. The airport baggage fees are generally much higher than a pre-purchased rate.

Any excess weight above the allowance sold at the time of booking will be charged at airport rates per kilogram. For safety reasons, scoot cannot accept any piece of baggage weighing more than 32 kg.

Sports Equipment and Musical Instruments

Sporting equipment can be checked as baggage, subject to space availability. This could include golf bags, skiing equipment, and bicycles, among others. All sporting equipment must be packed within specific requirements and weight constraints. The maximum weight for sporting equipment is 32 kg, and overweight pieces incur extra charges.

All sporting equipment must be packed in a way that will not damage it during transport. Items longer than 2 meters may not be accepted. Special handling fees apply for items such as firearms and diving equipment.

Musical Instruments

All types of instruments are allowed within the cabin, provided that they are not larger than 54 cm x 38 cm x 23 cm and weigh less than the cabin allowance. Instrument pieces that are larger have to be checked as carry-on baggage.

The instruments should be packed in hard cases to avoid damage when being transported. Those taken into the cabin are taken at the owner’s risk. Larger instruments may be carried in the cabin subject to space and crew discretion with an additional seat purchased if necessary.
