Qatar Airways Cabin Baggage Allowance
Qatar Airways allows passengers to carry cabin baggage, though the allowance varies according to the travel class. Economy Class passengers are allowed one piece of hand baggage not weighing more than 7kg. The size of each piece must comply with the standard dimensions of 50 x 37 x 25 cm (20 x 15 x 10 inches). Additionally, passengers are allowed to carry one personal item such as a laptop bag, handbag, or briefcase that must fit under the seat in front.

Qatar Airways Checked Baggage Allowance
Qatar Airlines has fairly good checked baggage, it varies from route and class of the cabin:
- First Class: 50 kg (110 lbs)
- Business Class: 40 kg (88 lbs)
- Economy Class: 23-30 kg (50-66 lbs) and it depends on the route too
On most routes, an airline operates on a weight concept, though some routes use the piece concept, like some of the Americas to/from the Americas. This also doesn’t matter so long as the total sum doesn’t exceed 32kg or 70 lbs in each bag for reasons of safety. Extra allowance on baggage is provided based on passenger status, wherein they might be members of the Qatar Airways Privilege Club.
Sporting Equipment and Musical Instruments
The baggage of Qatar Airways can accommodate sporting equipment and thus be checked, but there are certain size and weight specifications under which special items like diving equipment and skis should be packed appropriately in cases for protection purposes, while other kinds of sporting equipment may sometimes need pre-approval through which advance reservations are picked up by the airline reservation.
Sporting equipment over the standard baggage allowance will be charged for excess baggage. One piece of sporting equipment weighs up to 32kg (70lbs). Also, items cannot exceed linear dimensions of 158cm. (62 inches).
Music Instruments
Qatar Airways allows musical instruments in the cabin if they are of the size to fit within the cabin baggage requirements and if there is available space in the overhead compartments. Larger instruments have to be checked in or, depending on their size, can be booked as extra seat baggage (CBBG – Cabin Baggage).
Instruments for cabin carriage have to fit within the maximum dimensions for cabin baggage to Be properly packed in a hard case
- Avoid excess cabin baggage weight
- Book well in advance if the large instruments will occupy a seat
Checked musical instruments need to be placed in cases that are rigid or hard-shelled, and not broken so that there is less chance of breakage. Qatar Airways suggests that such valuable instruments have their values declared, and passengers should receive additional insurance coverage.
